Elektryk Youth Debate
1. Are democracies more or less prone to war?
Wars seem to reoccur – as if humans could not draw a lesson from the past, no matter how many times and on what scale they erupt. Does the change from peace to war depend on whether or not the governments are democratic? Do sanctions work? Can war ever be justified? Is the US-China relationship the new Cold War? Are democracies less likely to go to war with each other? Is dictatorship preferable to democracy in some instances?
2. Environment, Public Health and Food Safety
Nuclear energy is often misunderstood, raises common concerns about environmental effects and risks of contamination, but research into its safety says something completely different, it proves that atomic energy is most efficient and reliable, source of sustainable carbon free energy. Its not just for science fiction enthusiasts or nerdy physicists. Is it the solution to our planets energy crisis ? How can we effectively show that to the public? How can we re-ensure their safety and help them understand all the pros and cons? How can we prevent false allegations and misinformation from the opposition?
3. The Influences of AnimationComics on Generations
Animated series, movies, anime, comics, manga, books light- and dark-toned fantasy, mystery, horror and others alike have helped to shape the last few generations when it comes to their mentalities, fashion choices and humor. But how exactly do they affect us? In what aspects? Lets take a closer look, shall we?
4. The Influence of Social Media
Taking the amount of time we spend using social media into consideration we should talk about the pros and cons of them. This technology is designed to bring people closer to each other. Does it meet the expectations? What may happen if we spend too much time on social media? Should we react to that? If so, then how?
